Especially considering, as I've mentioned earlier, GW doesn't offer nearly as much content and replayability as WoW does. If I was paying anywhere near as much as I would for WoW for the 4 years I've been playing GW, I'd want a whole hell of a lot more than 4 extra storage tabs.

ArenaNet providing the things we want for free would be their way of helping assure our purchases of GW2 when it comes out.
Charging us for things that are not worth the cost anyways is their way of helping discourage sales of GW2 because it creates a bad impression of what's in store from them.

Honestly ArenaNet, you put absolutely no thought behind this update of yours.
It's retarded. I can buy more storage, with character slots, and the whole game, for $10, for a new account.
Here's the deal, cross the line into P2P and give us good updates, or stick to F2P completely.

Considering the budget differences between Blizzard and ArenaNet, i'd say Guild Wars is pretty good content wise.

So you're saying Blizzard has a higher budget so they can give more content for the same price? That makes no sense. they have a higher budget because they charge more for stuff and give more stuff that doesn't cost them as much to give. Thing is, the ratio of content per dollar is much higher with Blizzard games. They make more money because their games deliver more value than other companies' offerings.
Forget the company budgets and look at how much the game gives for how much you pay. Guild Wars cost me half as much to play it in its current form than I'd have paid to play WoW over the same period of time, and I got far less than half the content. Company budget has nothing to do with the dollar to content ratio...Anet is pulling in cash faster than they're giving content to players. period.

Lets see. I have played both WoW and GW for over three years. Lets do some math, shall we?
Guild Wars - 50 bucks
Factions - 50 bucks
Nightfall - 50 bucks
Eye of the North - 40 bucks
Bonus Mission Pack - (I got for free with promotion but lets pretend I bought it) - 10 bucks
Extra Storage Panes - (Lets pretend I am going to buy them all) - 40 bucks
Total: $240.00
World of Warcraft - 50 bucks
Burning Crusade - 40 bucks
Wrath of the Lich King - 40 bucks
Subscription Fees for 3 years at 15 bucks a month - 540 bucks
Total: $670.00 (That isn't even including $25 server transfer fee I paid)
The math speaks for itself really. Guild Wars is a good value any way you try to slice it.

I guess you're referring to "how much the game gives". But I'm probably on the same side as many "casuals" here, and the vastness of WoW's content doesn't impress me one bit. It's about fun and I wouldn't get more fun from WoW because I still got enough stuff to do in GW1 (and I can even acknowledge that I may not be able to see all the content before GW2...). Thus I'm winning on two accounts: money and "how much I'm actually going to take from the game" (not in theory if I had much more time to dedicate to GW1/WoW).
But we're not "dedicated players" are we?

I play an enjoy both games for various reasons. Don't get wrong. But seriously, people tend to downplay Guild Wars a tad' to much.

so you paid for a video game...congratulations. Guild Wars requires maintenence like any other MMO, except they dont have the subscription fees to take care of it. F2P MMO's are free but for absolutely anything extra they wont hesitate to charge you out the ass for a completely worthless item in the in-game store. At least Anet is offering something useful, im sure handing out more storage isnt exactly easy for them.

I understand you spent the initial price to buy the game, we all did, er, hopefully. But here's the deal. Your 50 bucks is not a magical pile of money that they can continually draw from and it will never run out. The 50 you paid for Prophecies is long gone. Went to server fee's, Internet service bills (Imagine how much bandwidth is used when people use the -image command. My .dat is basically 3.6GB downloaded in one night.), payroll for the workers, etc.
Believe me I am sure the companies wish that 50 they got from you was pure profit but in reality it was not.

Exactly how are you measuring that? I am just curious, since you are now making claims that should be backed up with data. I would like to see a research study with good designs.
or what that statement just your opinion?

Charging $10 usd for a tab of storage isn't completely retarded lol...
Chances are... hardcore players are gonna buy the storage tabs (well thats if theres any left)
It's price discrimination. You charge more to the people who are willing to pay for more. If you're a rational spender of money then you don't buy, but if your hooked... you might.
Its just the same as how the airlines charge 10x for the same ticket booked for the next day compared to a ticket booked 3 months in advance... it's not cos its harder to find the seats.
